Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Let's Talk (letstalkabout.money) is operated by Stuart Bashford, a sole trader. Contact: hello@letstalkabout.money.
This policy is made under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. How this service works and who can see your data
Let's Talk is designed for couples. When you create or join an account, you are linked to a shared couple account with your partner.
Everything you enter is visible to your partner. Both partners can see and edit all shared content, including goals, commitments, action items, open questions, spending agreements, and couple-level settings. Either partner can modify or delete content entered by the other. There is no private partition between partners.
Do not enter anything you would not want your partner to see.
2. What we collect
Account and identity
- Your email address, used for authentication
- Your first and last name
- Your partner's email address and first name, if you invite them
Conversation outputs captured when you complete a guided session
- Goals, with a time horizon (1, 3, or 5 years) and which partner owns each one, or whether it is shared
- Financial commitments: the text of what you agreed, and optionally why
- Action items: description, assigned partner, due date, and completion status
- Unresolved questions flagged for future discussion
- Spending category agreements: the approach agreed for each category, and any threshold notes
- How you handle money as a couple: whether your finances are fully merged, three-pots, or fully separate; spending autonomy notes; discussion principle; and any threshold amount for joint decisions
- Shared principles and recurring commitments captured during sessions
Session records
- Which guided sessions you have started and completed, and when
Specialist interest flags
- Whether you indicated interest in speaking with a particular type of specialist (see section 5)
Usage counts
The number of messages you send to the financial literacy companion each day. This count is used only for rate limiting. Message content is not stored by us after it is sent to Anthropic.
What we do not collect
- Bank account numbers or banking credentials
- Transaction data or spending history
- Credit information or scores
- Investment portfolio data
- Any data connected to external financial accounts
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service: storing and displaying your shared conversations, goals, and agreements
- To send authentication emails
- To generate an AI-based specialist type suggestion when you complete a session (see sections 4 and 5)
- To run the financial literacy companion chat (see section 4)
- To rate-limit daily API usage
- To monitor for application errors (see section 4)
We do not disclose personal information to any third party except the service providers listed in section 4. Any future specialist referral will require your separate consent at the time.
We do not use personal information for advertising.
4. Third parties that process your data
The following service providers process personal information on our behalf. In each case your data is transferred to that provider's systems.
Supabase (Supabase Inc.)
Database, authentication, and data storage.
All personal information and conversation data described in section 2 is stored on Supabase infrastructure, hosted in AWS ap-southeast-1, Singapore.
Vercel (Vercel Inc.)
Application hosting.
Web requests pass through Vercel infrastructure on the way to our application. Vercel does not independently store your conversation data.
Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC)
AI language model processing.
We send data to Anthropic in two circumstances.
Financial literacy companion: when you send a message in the Learn section, the full conversation history for that session is sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. We do not store that content after transmission.
Specialist type suggestion: when you complete a guided session, we send to Anthropic your goals (text, time horizon, and partner attribution), your commitments (text, reason, and partner attribution), your open questions, your couple's operating model and shared principles, and a record of which sessions you have completed.
Anthropic does not use data submitted via its API to train its models.
Resend (Resend Inc.)
Email delivery.
Your email address and the content of authentication emails are sent to Resend for delivery.
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.)
Error monitoring.
When the application encounters an error, Sentry receives technical error data including stack traces and request metadata. Sentry may capture incidental personal data if it appears in an error trace. Session Replay is disabled. Sentry does not record user interactions or typed content.
Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.)
DNS.
Cloudflare resolves DNS for letstalkabout.money. The proxy is disabled. Cloudflare does not see the content of your requests. It sees only that a DNS lookup was made for the domain.
5. Specialist referrals
Let's Talk does not make specialist referrals. No information is shared with any specialist.
The app displays an AI-generated suggestion that a specialist such as a mortgage broker, financial adviser, or lawyer could be useful, based on your conversation data. That suggestion is generated entirely within Let's Talk. No data leaves the service as a result of displaying it.
If a referral capability is introduced, this section will be rewritten to describe what is shared, with whom, and on what terms. Users will be notified before any such change takes effect.
6. Data location
No user data is stored in Australia. Supabase (database and authentication) is hosted in Singapore. Anthropic (AI processing) is in the United States. Resend (email delivery) and Sentry (error monitoring) are also outside Australia.
By using Let's Talk you consent to these cross-border transfers.
7. Data retention
Data is retained for as long as your account is active.
Specialist recommendation records are retained after they are superseded. Older records are marked inactive rather than deleted.
To request deletion of your account and data, email hello@letstalkabout.money. The current process is manual.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No system can be guaranteed secure.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as soon as practicable, in compliance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
9. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
- Request deletion of your data
- Make a complaint about how we have handled your information
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@letstalkabout.money. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
10. Age
This service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Cookies
Supabase sets cookies to maintain your authentication session. These are strictly necessary for the service to function.
No analytics or tracking scripts are loaded. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking of any kind.
12. Changes to this policy
The current version of this policy is always available at this page. The last updated date at the top will change when the policy is updated.
